This is your chance to make filmmaking history by having an opportunity to try out for a part in a film that has already received international press for being one of the first collaborative movies (open source). 

It's being followed by both the independent and main stream media because of the unique and ground breaking way it's being produced - by a collaboration of creative individuals from all over the world coming together to produce and distribute a movie via the internet.  The film will be shot in Ventura California, but is being worked by an international team and will be distributed virally to every corner of the world for free online.  There are follow up plans to launch either a web series or potentially a full length, this is just the beginning. We already have indie films on youtube that have been seen over 6 million times and that is nothing compared to the exposure this film is already receiving.  This project could easily spiral into the mainstream media. Specific Roles: Ezra / Lead / Female / Caucasian / 16 - 24 years Description: Ezra must make a life changing decision about her species and whether she wants to leave behind everything she's ever known. She's spent her whole life in an isolated community of humans and had been previously comfortable with her little simple life, but after her brother leaves all that changes. Ezra should radiate natural beauty and innocence; she should appear sometimes as a vulnerable and impressionable girl next door and other times show subtle signs of inner strength and high levels of curiosity. Wardrobe: All white Universal spokesperson for inter species communication / Supporting / Male / All Ethnicities / 25 - 45 years Description: A virtual spokesman for an evolved species, a living peace of software which conveys little genuine emotion, but instead speaks very clearly and systematically with dramatization. Think universal holographic spokesperson for inter species communication. Wardrobe: Dressed in all black. Leading Elder - Supporting / Male / All Ethnicities / 45 - 99 years Description: A strong, stubborn and crazed leader. Very charismatic, confident, and painfully stubborn. Someone strong enough to convince a flock of people to blindly follow him even if he lead them off a cliff. Wardrobe: All white Three Guards - Supporting / Male / Female / All Ethnicities / 25 - 35 years Description: A strong guard who follows orders in a "close knit" isolated community of humans. Strong masculine features are a plus, so they'll contrast with innocent look of the lead characters. Wardrobe: Either all white, or guard attire that doesn't scream any particular time frame (futuristic or minimalistic). Jathia's Mom - Supporting / Female / Caucasian / 45 - 55 years Description: A simple and highly emotional woman who dearly loves her son, but doesn't understand him. She's torn between her love for her family and the doctrine of the community which she lives. In the end she sides with the community and believes her own children will perish. Wardrobe: Dressed in all white. 20 Townspeople  Background / Male / Female / All Ethnicities / 16 - 99 years Description: You're a member of an isolated community of humans who hold strong beliefs and have lived close knit simple lives. There are some lines as well as multiple improv opportunities available, you’ll be sure to be seen heavily in the final production, this not a “no show” background part. Wardrobe: All white from head to toe. What to wear: All actors should be dressed in all white.  We don't have a large budget for costuming and we're using all white for it's symbolic interpretation.  Here are some screen shots from the prequel teaser trailer for an idea of a good costume.  The only exception is if you're applying to play one of the guards in the movie.  If you have something you believe will work for a quasi - futuristic guard costume, we invite you to wear it - impress us.  This is a collaborative film and we want to work with creative individuals who love what they do.  If you don't have anything - go with all white. What to expect when you get there: This is a no budget movie, so it's at a house with a garage studio, sorry couldn't afford to rent a theater, but that's not what it's all about. You'll come inside and we'll go over some basic information and then call you up one at a time to read some lines in front of the camera.  They'll be some time for you ask questions about the project and network with if you would like.  If you'd like to meet us before the audition, we'll be having a meetup in Los Angeles at a restaurant at the end of October, I'll post details on that as soon as they're available.
