The rough cut for Jathia's Wager is finished and the film is currently in post production (audio and finishing touches). You can see some movie stills from the rough cut here.
The release date has been set for February 24, 2009. It will be released online for free and is suitable for all audiences (it's technically unrated, but I would give it a PG rating). Everyone who helped directly in the production will receive a DVD version of the film. For those interested in the post production process I published a series of e-mail correspondences on the status of the post production work.
I created a press page to highlight the media coverage we're receiving (incredible considering it's still in production). When it's released it should spread like a virus and reach an audience in the millions. I'm very excited and this is only the very beginning compared to what I'm working on now.
I want to say thank you again for everyone involved in the production. The source files will be posted online and the community is invited to use them to create their own interpretation.
Other Updates:
I was the first to speak at bloblive Los Angeles 2009 (bloblive.com), an event for people to share ideas. I talked about open source movies and jathia's wager. I made a ton of network connections and found jathia's wager's first commercial sponsor. I'll post more information (including the video) momentarily.
Even though Jathia's Wager is still in post production - I've already began working on my next project. I sign a contract tomorrow to shoot a documentary (fully funded) which I'll be shooting in March/April. Until I sign on the dotted line I can't release any information about it yet, but I'm very excited and part of it will be open source. Additionally I have also been furiously writing new material for a darker, sexier film series.
Jathia's Wager may be continued depending on the popularity of the release and the available of sponsorship, but we'll have t wait and see. I've already completed the script for a follow up episode and stirred up a lot of commercial interest from business networking. In the upcoming months I may announce the continuation of that series and this time they'll be some financial compensation involved for those participating in the release.
I'll send more updates when they're available.
Thanks,
