Monsters vs. Aliens 3D: WINNER!!! Movie Review, Commentary, Analysis
Okay... I'm not just biasedly in favor of this movie because I hate aliens and I'm paranoid about them...
*my personal story... skip this paragraph if you don't give a poopy doop* I have this weird fear of aliens. I've once spent winter break from school all by myself, in my room for like two weeks. You know how that gets right? I kept being scared to go to sleep because I felt like I was being spied on... I kept imagining an eerie presence... and then one night, I found a cockroach IN my bed. I don't even know how that happened. I reached over and caught something hard between my fingers and thought it was an earring. SURPRISE SURPRISE. It wain't no earring of mine! I took care of it (didn't kill it, just took it captive in a soap box) and believed it was an alien spy, especially since cockroaches have been living on this planet for WAYY longer humans have... coincidence? I think not~!!!!! *********
ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. I can't name one thing that bothered me about this movie-- other than me having a headache (from before the movie)!!!!! Okay this whole thing is going to be a semi-spoiler.. LOL I can't help but WANT to talk about the plot!
Hilarious scenes-- BOB (Seth Rogen) was ridiculously funny!!! The behaviors of the characters were semi-realistic -- which is totally crazy for an animated film! I can't remember LOLing THAT much in a theatre for a LONG time!! (Probably because I haven't been really able to watch what I love though-- I felt embarassed for my movie buddy since I was being SO loud )The 3D effects of this movie were GREAT! I haven't seen it in regular format, but I'm betting on that it's much better in 3D. This was one of the best 3D movies I've seen because of the effects. Things looks great and I could tell that most of the audience in that room felt the same way as well, with the "whoa"s and the "oooh"s!
I cried at a few scenes mainly because I could relate so well. :'( ... Suzan's fiancé Derek, cancelled their trip honeymoon to Paris (something she was REALLY looking forward to) in order to advance his career. The artists did a great job depicting human emotions because you could catch a slight twitch in Suzan as she sucked it up and pretended that it didn't bother her, despite her crushed heart! AWWWW :'(. Derek's selfishness also reminded me of someone I knew and I felt EXTRA EXTRA bad when he left her. It wasn't fair to her and he was the only thing that got her through that prison; she's given up so many things for him, to follow him and become HIS shadow, while all he does is take more and more and when he no longer could do that, he abandons her at her weakest emotional state.

This movie's about unusual friendship and going beyond the normal, and learning to become independent. Suzan as a character, develops from a regular infatuated woman, into a heroine, able to rely upon herself instead of the love of others, such as her parents and Derek. I also believe this is about self discovery-- she hadn't been able to discover herself while she was following Derek... and only til she realized her own potential and was by herself that she gained the power to overcome evil. I LOVED all the monsters. They were all so cute and funny!!! And the President with his "code brown" and the General with is parachute. LOL "If I'm not here when you guys are out, then that means I'm dead.... or late." LOLOLOL
It's got WAY silly jokes and DEFINITELY go see it if you're looking for a movie to get lost in, ROFL-ing every step of the way.
I felt the all-star cast did a wonderful job-- despite being able to recognize a few of the voices, I still was wrapped within the plot and didn't see them as ... well, super-celebrities that have starred in movies I've loved. One thing for INSECTOSAURUS: LMFAOLMFAOLMFAOLMFAOLMFAOROFL.
I love how the government gave Suzan a new name too: Ginormica. LOL. I know plenty of women that would love to be called that. In the beginning of the movie, when you see Suzan grow at her wedding rehearsal in a ripping wedding gown, my movie buddy pointed out that "it's not a coincidence that she looked so hot" while I was thinking "well, that certainly gives new meaning to Bridezilla..." Please watch it, it's great-- I bet even in 2D. If you're one of those people like my movie buddy that thinks "Oh, this can't be for me, it's animated and cartoony!" THINK AGAIN and check it out! Or at least nourish the kid within once in a while right? Heck if you want a movie buddy and are near Ventura, California, I'd watch it with you!

The 3d effects (in the trailers too) were really cool and definitily great eye candy. Out of all the animated movies I've seen this was one of my favoriate, but would still lag behind Shriek 1 and the Incredibles for entertainment value if it wasn't for the 3d effects. If you are on a date and want to take her to a movie she'll love, this one is it. 80% positive from Rotten Tomatoes, it appears most adults, children and film critics fell in love with Monsters vs Aliens.
